  • Kajal Aggarwal to debut in Kannada with Darshan's Bul Bul
    Actress Kajal Aggarwal, who is one among the most wanted South Indian actors, has denied acting with Challenging Star Darshan in his next film Bul Bul. She says that she has neither signed any film in Kannada nor has been approached by anyone. Meanwhile, she requests the filmmaker to stop using her name for publicity.

    Recently, it was reported that Kajal Aggarwal would act opposite Darshan in his next film Bul Bul, the Kannada remake of Prabhas-Kajal starrer hit Telugu movie Darling. These rumours, which she thinks to have been created by the production team for publicity, have angered her.

    Kajal Aggarwal says that she is currently busy with three films in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, but she has not signed any movie in Kannada. "I haven’t signed any Kannada film. I don’t know why my name has been dragged into this. I haven’t been approached by anyone either. Why do people use my name?" the DNA quotes the actress as saying.

    Meanwhile, the Magadheera star is open to act in Kannada if she gets an interesting script. Kajal adds, “I’m from Mumbai, but I’ve received immense love and acceptance from the film industries in South India. I’m always game to do a Kannada film in case I get a good script.”

Now, the producer is waiting to get the callsheet of the actress, who is busy with movies like Veera, Chandi, Maatran and The Business Man.

    KV Anand, who tried and approached a few Bollywood actress, has finalized Kajal Aggarwal for the female lead role in Maatraan. The director has recently approached and signed her to pair Surya in the film.

    For the uninitiated, Kajal is a popular actress down South with a repertoire of numerous successful films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. She rose to prominence after her performance as 'Yuvarani Mitravinda Devi' and 'Indira (Indu)' in the 2009 Telugu super-hit Magadheera which also won her a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress (Telugu).

    Talking about casting Kajal in his film, director Rohit Shetty says, "Kajal is very popular down south. She has done Magadheera, one of the biggest Telugu hits of all time. We are confident about her pulling off the role successfully."

    Talking about similarities between the original and Rohit's remake, Rohit adds, "75 percent of the film will be different, while the original basic premise will stay the same. We have to make the film accessible to every market in the country. So the story will differ from the original. I have introduced new characters and subplots to cater to the general audience."

    Singham produced by Reliance Pictures is all set to hit theatres this July.
